Art Direct is responsible for the personal information described here. This notice covers our informational website and enquiries sent to us. You can reach us at info@art-direct.org.

Visiting the website

Cloudflare Pages hosts and protects this website. Delivering a page involves processing technical information, including your IP address, browser details, request time and the page requested. We use this information for our legitimate interest in running a reliable, secure website and preventing misuse.

Our website code does not set cookies or use browser storage, advertising trackers or analytics tools. There is no account, checkout or newsletter sign-up. Cloudflare may use necessary security cookies when protecting the service; its privacy policy explains its processing.

When you contact us

We receive your email address, message and any name you choose to provide. Direct emails may also include attachments and correspondence details. Your name is optional; an email address and message are needed to use the form and receive a reply.

We use these details to respond and manage your enquiry, based on our legitimate interest in communicating with people who contact Art Direct. If you ask us to take steps towards a contract with you, that processing is necessary for those steps. We do not add you to a marketing list because you contacted us.

Formspree delivers form messages to our Google email inbox and keeps a copy in our Formspree account. It also processes technical details, such as an IP address and browser information, to deliver messages and filter spam. We use this filtering to protect our inbox. If a message does not get through, you can email us directly.

Please include only information relevant to your enquiry, and avoid sensitive personal information such as health, identity-document or payment details.

Our service providers

Cloudflare provides hosting and security, Formspree handles form submissions, and Google provides email. They and their service providers process information needed for those services. We may also disclose relevant information where required by law or necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

These services can process information outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Formspree states that it uses standard contractual clauses for transfers as a processor. Cloudflare and Google describe safeguards including standard contractual clauses and, where applicable, recognised adequacy arrangements.

How long we keep information

We assess retention according to whether an enquiry remains open, related follow-up is needed, or the correspondence forms part of an ongoing collaboration. Relevant records may need to remain for an applicable legal obligation or a specific dispute or legal claim. When those reasons no longer apply, we delete our copies from the inbox and Formspree archive.

There is no single automatic deletion period for every enquiry. Provider backups and technical security records follow the providers’ retention arrangements. You can ask us about a particular message or request its deletion.

Your choices and rights

Depending on the circumstances, you can request access to your information, correction, deletion, restriction of processing or a portable copy. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. We do not use enquiry information for automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.

Email info@art-direct.org to exercise a right. We may need to confirm your identity and will normally respond within one month. If the law permits an extension, we will explain why within that month.

You can also complain to a data protection authority, including the Dutch Data Protection Authority or the authority where you live or work.

Links to other platforms

Instagram, Amazon and other linked websites operate separately and apply their own privacy notices. Our Amazon shop links are affiliate links: Amazon handles visits, referrals and purchases on its platform. We receive no payment details through this website. An email link opens your chosen email application.
